China, also known as "all under heaven", in the years 180-235AD is the setting for Koei's Dynasty Warriors games series. In actual history, China was reunited by the Jin dynasty (evolved of the Wei Dynasty by Sima Yi and his descendants) in 283AD. The Dynasty Warriors: Empires series also shows a rather detailed map of the Han Dynasty layout.
The land was first unified under Qin Shi Huang Di, the tyrannical first emperor of China, in 221 BCE. A powerful a terrible leader, he became so feared that his tomb, guarded by the silent Terracotta Army, remains unopened to this day, partly out of superstition (mostly due to rumors of numerous booby-traps). The government, which was kept in line by fear of Qin's wrath, fell apart upon his death, leading to a power struggle that resulted in the beginning of the Han Dynasty.
