Dynasty Warriors 5 Xtreme Legends is the Xtreme Legends version of Dynasty Warriors 5. It is supposedly easier to use then the previous Xtreme Legends series and there are a lot of updated options.
[edit] Changes
- Legend Mode from the previous Xtreme Legends title returns. In this title, characters share their stages together but players are only allowed to select one character at a time. Playing through these stages with different characters may change the manner of the stage's events and will have a different quote after the battle's conclusion. After a stage is completed once, the player is free to choose any character on their next run.
- Seven new items are introduced.
- An additional feature is extreme mode in which your goal is to 1) survive as long as possible and 2) conquer and maintain China. You start at original stats and weapons, and work your way up by the blacksmith and shops which you purchase upgrades, items, etc with points from battle, blacksmith with iron from crates, officers, supply captains, etc. and shops from gold from objectives, helping people, and battle performance. As you play characters will join you through various means, up to six with three active in battle. You choose your mission from a choice of three and do not recover health after each mission.
- The new edit mode allows you to equip any character's weapon to the newly created edit character. There is also a mode titled destiny mode in which you create a character and serve a character from the three kingdoms (not from the "other" section). You originally pick one of three weapons: pike, spear, and sword. You gain weapons by doing well in a mission and killing supply captains. You also obtain points for obtaining skills (such as 6-hit, ambush, and calvary [one hit k.o. for hitting someone on a horse]) by completing objectives (i.e. win in 7 minutes, kill 50 people, etc.) The time frame is shorter than musou and free mode.
- There are two additional challenge modes.
You can download Dynasty Warriors 5 content with load original function. You can bring edit character to free mode also when you download it. Every time you start Extreme Legends to get the Dynasty Warriors 5 content, you have to re-insert it.
